There are two ways to use this tutorial. The first way is to look up examples of how a word is used. This approach can be used to check to see whether you have used a reporting verb in the correct way. To do this, you need to choose a verb from the list given and then click Search . You will receive a group of sentences that illustrate the use of the sentences along with some notes discussing the use of the reporting verb.

The second way is to search by Concept . To access this feature, click on the Search button. You will receive a set of questions. These questions ask you various questions about your attitude towards the claim and how you want to present the claim. Click on a term for its definition.

After you answer the questions, you will receive a group of sentences using different reporting verbs that fulfill your criteria.
